How To Create A New Partition In Windows 7

Hey guys, what’s up? Today I am going to explain you about how to increase or decrease hard disk partition in windows without booting device.

So Let’s Start:

Follow these steps very carefully to perform this operation. I explain full details with screenshot in this article.

• Step-1: Go to My Computer and click right button of your mouse and click manage. You will see Computer management window.

• Step-2: Now click on Disk Management. You will see the disk partition panel of your computer. From here you can increase/decrease or create a new partition. (See the screenshot bellow)

To increase or create a partition you have to decrease a partition. It is your choice which drive you want to increase or decrease.

• Step-3: Now put your mouse pointer in a partition that you want to decrease. (Without Drive (C):  you cannot make any changes of this drive) Click right button of your mouse then click on shrink volume.

• Step-4: Now enter the amount of space to shrink in MB and hit ENTER or click on shrink.

You have done……......

Now time to increase a drive.

• Step-5: Select the drive you want to increase by putting mouse pointer on it. Click right button then click on extend volume.

• Step-6: A pop up window will be seen on the screen click next.

• Now enter the amount in MB you want to increase and hit ENTER or click next. You will see a successfully message. Now click on finish.

To create a partition:

• Step 7: After shrinking of a volume you can create new volume. The volume you shrink will be seen on the screen as unallocated volume. Just put mouse pointer on it and click right button>New Volume.

Now click next and type the amount of your new partition in MB and click next. You will see a successfully message on the screen. Just finish it.
