How to Create a Bootable USB Drive to install Windows 7 and Windows 8

Hey guys, I am going to tell you how to create a bootable USB Drive to install windows 7 and windows 8. This is a simple way to create a bootable USB Pen Drive.

To do a USB Pen Drive bootable you need following requirements:

• A USB flash Pen Drive (min 4 GB) 
• A disk of windows 7 or Windows 8 

So let's start:

• Step-1: Plug-in your USB Pen Drive into USB port of your computer or laptop and keep a back up of your Pen Drive’s content into another location of your hard Drive.
• Step-2: Open command prompt as administrator. Use any of the followings method to open command prompt as administrator.

1. Open Run command and type cmd and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter (You can open Run by pressing Windows Key + R) 
2. Go to Start menu > All programs > Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

• Step-3: Type DISKPART and hit Enter. You will see as like the following picture.

• Step-3: Now type LIST DISK and hit Enter. You will see the disk list of your computer.

(Note down the disk number (ex Disk 1) of your USB Flash Pen Drive. Look to the screenshot below. Here my Flash Drive Disk no is Disk. If you have Disk 2 as your USB Flash Pen Drive then use Disk 2.)

• Step-4: Type all the following commands one by one. 

SELECT DISK 1CLEANCREATE PARTITION PRIMARYSELECT PARTITION 1ACTIVEFORMAT FS=NTFS (Type QUIK to perform format fast)(Format process may take few seconds)ASSIGNEXIT

• Step-5: Now minimize the command prompt and insert the windows 7 or Windows 8 DVD disk on your optical Drive. (It means your DVD/CD ROM)

Open My Computer and check the letter of your DVD Drive. My DVD Drive letter is (D) and my Flash USB Drive letter is (H)

• Step 6: Maximize the minimized Command Prompt type the following commands one by one and hit Enter every time.

D: CD BOOT (where “D” is your DVD Drive letter.)CD BOOTBOOTSECT.EXE/NT60 H: (where “H” is your USB Flash Pen Drive)

• Step-7: Now Copy all the content of your Windows 7 or Windows 8 DVD disk to the USB Flash Pen Drive.

You have done…..

• Now restart your Computer or Laptop that you want to install windows and go to Bios menu of Order USB Drive as first boot device.
• Save Bios order and restart. (Before restart plug in USB Flash Pen Drive)
• Now install windows and enjoy. [GOOD LUCK]
